THE MAIN EVENT

“The Main Event” was the 2019 cross-channel Shadowbox Black Friday sale. Inspired by vintage boxing posters (below), I pulled relevant phrasing and imagery into the artwork to act as our very own fight night poster. As a fully cross-channel initiative, this artwork had to live in a variety of formats both print and digital, some of which are pictured below. I used a strong type hierarchy and familiar color story to convey our message in the very noisy space of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. As Shadowbox has studios in both New York and Chicago, we ran different sales in both markets requiring a flexible visual vocabulary. Our efforts and constant communication strategy led to a very successful sale in both markets, our best since the studio opened in 2015!
